  1. Hello,
Thanks for the gallery which seems to be what i’m looking for, but it doesn’t work on my side…
I am creating my photographer website and I would like to have something similar to a free online book where I use to publish my photos.
    Example here:
    https://adragante.bookfolio.fr/fr/galeries/architecture—reportage-new-york

But when I install your plugin, there are very few settings and I dont understand how to customize it (size, number of rows etc) to obtain a result like the one you present here…
For example, I would like to have the possibility to mix “portait” and “landscape”previews on the grid.
    I’m working with DIVI.

    Any tip would be appreciate!
    Thanks : )

    1. Hello,
Unfortunately, using my plugin you will not achieve the effect seen on the websites you linked to. In my plugin, photos are arranged in rows, and in the examples you provided – in columns.

  2. One day “drag and drop to reorder media files” was working, the next day not. I can drag a file but it won’t stay put and so the order is fixed.

  3. Is there a method to disable the plugin for certain pages, to allow the default WP gallery to display?

Is there a method to customize some galleries to show/not show captions?

    1. There is a option to show/hide a download image button from the Photoswipe, but only in the Pro version.

    1. Exactly as you wrote. You have to set “Caption” to “hide” for the Photoswipe. Also you have to fill “Alt Text” for your media.

The plugin doesn’t support other Photoswipes PIDs than image index.

  4. Hello! Congratulations for this plug in, it’s just what I was looking for! I only have one problem: when I view the gallery from the computer everything is ok, when I view it from the phone, it does not seem to work and the images are randomly placed. How can I do?

  5. Hi Damian,
I’m using Elementor as a faster page building method.
Is there a plan to make your plug-in as a widget for Elementor (which is extremely popular for WordPress)?
Or, is there a way to easily integrate Justified Gallery with Elementor now, so that the set-up and placement of galleries is a bit quicker and can be done while previewing the results?
    Thanks so much!
    Randall

    1. Hi Randall,
I don’t know Elementow well. Have you tried to add a galley by “Add media” button in the “Text Editor” widget?
I will think about better support for Elementor.

  6. Hello, interested in the Justified Gallery- will an external lightbox work with this? Thanks 🙂

    1. Hello Emily,
Yes, you can implement manually any external lighbox. To to this you must select the option “disable lightbox” in the plugin settings.

  7. Hi Damian,
Is there an option to show the title when you click a picture. I know about the description feature, but I wonder if the title can be shown also, thank you!

    Aldo

    1. Hi,
The title is never displayed. Only the caption or the description is displayed. The Caption only when the description is empty. Maybe there will be better to display both the caption and the description. I’ll think about it,

  8. I just loved this plugin!!
As mentioned it’s not workin well on guttenberg but works if you use shortcode.
Really, thanks, that’s a really amazing plugin

    1. Thanks Jorge.
I’m working on the Justified Gallery Block for Gutenberg. The work will be finished in about two weeks.

    2. I created new Gutenberg Block called Justified Gallery. It allows to manage and preview Justified Gallery inside the Gutenberg editor. Update the plugin to version 1.4.0 and check it. I am waiting for the first feedback.

        1. There was a problem with WordPress 5.0. I have fixed it. Update to 1.4.1 and the Justified Gallery block should work.

  9. Hi,
I tried posting on the WordPress forums but for some reason my post didn’t get added.
I’ve just updated to WordPress 4.9.8 and activated the Gutenberg Editor. Unfortunately your plugin isn’t working with the new Gutenberg Gallery Block.

I’d really like to continue using your plugin so are you looking into making it compatible with Gutenberg?.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Andy

    1. Hi,
Of course, I will provide support for Gutenberg.
A this moment you can use a “shortcode” block and paste literally something like that [gallery ids="100,101,102"]. The “ids” contains your images id that you would like to use in the gallery.

I will try to overwrite the default gallery block soon.

      1. Hi Damian,
Thank you, only just seen this reply, the shortcode workaround seems to be working!. Look forward to the full Gutenberg integration.

    1. Not now, but a lot of users asked me to add this feature. There is a high probability that I’ll add this feature in the next plugin releases.

  10. Hi Damian! I like so much your plugin!
Is it possible to add the ‘Heart Like Counter’ button on each photos in gallery?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi
      Thanks Vincenzo.
Unfortunately I do not plan to add ‘Heart Like Counter’ feature. I want to keep the plugin light and easy to config. The Justified Gallery plugin has a lot of filter and action hooks in the code, so other developers can write own features.

    1. I need more details. Write to support. Maybe there is a conflict between the slider and Justified Gallery plugin.

  11. Greetings,

If landscape orientation photos have a fixed row width, portrait orientation photos should have a fixed column width. Currently, this plugin shows portrait so tiny comparing to landscape photos.

I am looking forward to install the plugin again in my blog.

    Best regards,
    Salah

    1. You probably mean masonry layout. It’s true, Justified Gallery doesn’t support masonry. The grid is only based on rows.
I have a solution for you. I assume you don’t mix portrait and landscape orientation photos. If yes, you can set a row height for each gallery separately. A row height for portrait photos should be bigger than for landscape photos.
Try to add the param rowheight="xxx" inside your gallery shortode. Eg [gallery ids="39,38" rowheight="500"]. It overwrites the plugin global settings.

      Best
      Damian

      1. Yes, I meant masonry layout.

I really like how this plugin works and wish if it can support masonry layout. The plugin is so easy to use in personal blogs.

  12. Hi Damian.. This plugin is awesome ans the best i’ve found in wordpress. So simple. but I have the same issue with Ralph..

With the las update.. plugin lost all configurations.

    “the new version 1.3.0 interferes with https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/simple-lightbox/ v. 2.6.0
even when the lightbox in yor plugin is disabled, it hinders simple-lightboxfrom running.
    pls check and fix.
    i’m running latest wp version 4.9.4–de_DE on Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu)with php 7.0.25-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
    best ralph”

  13. !! bug-report !!

btw: i like your galley pligin, cause it’s simple andlooks nice. 5stars, when up and running again ;-))

    1. Hi Damien
I tried with this Development Version but the same issue appear.
Now I instaled again the version 1.2.3 and now is working perfectly

    1. Dzięki.
Galeria tworzona jest domyślne z rozmiarów “medium” tzn. max width 300px i max height 300px. Są dwa wyjścia na ten moment:
      – Zwiększ rozmiar medium w Settings->Media i przetwórz zdjęcia za pomocą https://pl.wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
      – Dodaj parametr size="large" do shortcode’a z galerią czyli np. [gallery ids="xx,xx,xx" size="large"]
To pierwsze rozwiązanie jest globalne. Znam ten błąd i naprawię go niebawem.

        1. Hej,

          Piotrek

  15. Hi love the plugin, I was wondering is there is a way to call the gallery from the template? Thanks in advance!
Nvm, I was trying do_shortcode($variable), but it only takes a string directly.
I mean, I was passing the wrong ID for the gallery.

    1. Thanks. These option will be available in the paid version (not yet released), but you can also customize it in CSS.

  16. Hi,

I love this plug in but when I select the photos to not link, they link anyway. How can I set it so that the photos just show as a justified gallery without the option to click into them? I’ve changed the settings to not show Lightbox and also on the images themselves but it’s still linking.

    Thank you

    1. Hi Emily,
I know about it. A parameter link="none" doesn’t work. At this moment I have temporary solution for you. Use following CSS code:

      .dgwt-jg-item {
      pointer-events: none;
      }

The bug will be fixed in the next plugin releases. I added it on my todo list 🙂

  17. Hi Damian,

What about performance? I mean, does it always load dependencies (photoswipe.js, etc) even if there is no gallery in the actual page?

Just wondering. Thank you. Excellent plugin!

    1. Thanks Felipe,
Performance is also important to me. I have finished working on conditional loading of assets. The dependencies are loaded only on pages, where a [gallery] shortcode exists. It was hard to achieve, but works perfect. This feature will be available in the next plugin release.

  18. I download the gallery, how can i upload the gallery to my website now? Add plugin is only possible as a ZIP file. What shortcut i need to add where?? Sorry I try t built my own website but i am totally new to this.. how someone can help!!

  19. Hi Damian, very good work with your plugin!
Is it possible to add the ‘Heart Like Counter’ button on each photos in gallery?

    1. At this moment it is not possible. Thank you for the great proposal. Maybe I will implement this feature in the next releases.

  20. Hi, thx for this work!
is it possible to show just a part of the gallery and display a button above like “load more”
    cheers
    Akal

    1. Hi Akal,
At this moment there is no such feature. I’m now focused on the implementation of “lazy load”. “Lazy load” should be more user frendly for large galleries than “load more” button.

    1. Yes, you can change the size of the images. Go to the Justified Gallery settings page and set “Row height” to larger value.

  21. Is it possible to disable the “download” feature in the lightbox?
Also, is it possible for SERPs to find each image for an image search on Google, etc?

    1. Now you can’t disable the download button via the plugin settings page, but this option will be added in the next plugin releases.

Yes, the images are indexed by Googlebot. You can see SERP from this website here. Do you want to add the option to prevent the gallery images from appearing in search results? It seems to be interesting for photographers.

  22. How can I disable the download option of the images in the gallery? I just want to showcase my photography , not let my viewers download it 🙂 Please let me know if this is something I can disable because I didn’t found it. Thank you very much !

    1. Hiding a “download” button will be available in the “pro” plugin version, I’m working on. There will be more interesting features especially for photographers. More information soon.

      1. Will this be a payed feature, the disabling of the download button and other options from the lightbox gallery? When will the release be, do you have an approximate date? 🙂 Thanks for the reply !

  23. Hello 🙂 How is it possible to fade in the description of the picture? As in your example. And your last two pictures (like the waterfall and forest) are bigger than the other pictures. How is it possible?

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

    Sabine

    1. Hi Sabine,
Fade in the description of the picture will be available in the paid version, I’m working on. Also there will be other interesting features 🙂 Keep the plugin up to date.

Yes, two last rows are bigger because I set the option “Last row” to “Justify”. Go to the Justified Gallery settings page and check it out
